Ayurveda is an ancient medicinal
science of India that has been practiced since the Vedic Age. The term
Ayurveda is derived from combination of two words; 'Ayu' means 'Life' and
'Veda' means 'Knowledge'. Thus, Ayurveda means the 'Knowledge of Life'.
Ayurveda works on the principals that the universe is composed of five basic
elements or the Panch Mahabootas, namely, Prithivi (Earth), Apya (Water),
Teja (Fire), Vayu (Air) and Akash (Space). The treatment of Ayurveda is
based on the fact that any disease arises in the body due to misbalance in
the Tridoshas i.e., Vata, Pitta and Kapha, which should always remain in
equilibrium in the human body. Thus, Ayurveda follows the approach of
holistic treatments and helps you discover the true ways to lead a happy
life free of diseases.
